The Walkers Group's lunch debut at Hai Cang Harbor in Bellaire wasn't just about celebrating a birthday; it was a craving for good food, good company, and a neighborhood finding its groove. After 15 years in the area, watching Ai Hoa Marketplace blossom with new restaurants, we finally took a chance on Hai Cang. And oh boy, did we hit the jackpot! From the piping hot fish and crab soup that warmed our souls to the crispy chow mein that danced on our tongues, every dish was a symphony of flavors. The chicken lettuce wraps were a refreshing burst of green, the salt and pepper tofu and pork ribs a savory duet, and the evergreen snowpack leaves a vibrant reminder of spring. And who could forget the Mongolian beef, a classic done right, tender and flavorful. But beyond the culinary delights, it was the atmosphere that truly made the lunch special. Laughter filled the air as we shared stories and birthday wishes, the clinking of plates and silverware a backdrop to our camaraderie. The friendly service added a touch of warmth, making us feel like we were dining amongst friends. Leaving Hai Cang, we felt not just full of delicious food, but also full of joy and appreciation. It was a reminder that sometimes, the best things in life are found right under our noses, waiting to be discovered. So, if you're ever in Bellaire, don't hesitate to give Hai Cang a try. You might just find yourself writing your own love letter to this hidden gem.

This is my second time eating at Hai Càng Restaurant. From the moment I placed my order until the food was set on the table, it took less than 15 minutes. OMG, they have hired awesome chefs cook, and friendly staff make you feel very comfortable and enjoy the meal. To be honest with you, a few people gossiped about Hai Càng Restaurant, which made me hesitant to come, but the restaurant is not what I heard. You don't know until you try and see it with your own eyes.

We are Cantonese from Austin and we have a good family dinner here. We ordered two lobsters in two flavors, one is fried lobster with ginger & scallions, the other is fried with XO sauce. Both are delicious! We have the Chef Special Chicken too. It’s really authentic and it was executed well. The chef and high skills and great experience. We hasn’t have the level of authentic Cantonese dishes for a while.

I've frequented Hai Cang and their food has always been good. The interior had always been a little musty, but they renovated and it now looks a lot more modern for sure. It's a popular place for groups and families. Food Salt and pepper short ribs are tasty. Evenly cooked and crispy and flavorful. I like to douse everything in chili oil anyway. They'll give you rice to eat with this for free. Stir fried flat rice noodle with beef and Chinese broccoli is also tasty. Nothing wrong here and it's a good portion size. Decent amount of beef. Service They checked up on us and refilled drinks. At the end they even wrap your food up into to-go containers for you. Ambiance It's remodeled and clean and modern. They definitely put effort into turning things around. Everything is very gray now and still feels dark because of that, unfortunately. Restrooms Updated and even has lights on the mirrors that you can turn on or off. Clean, for multiple people, but not large. Parking Big shared lot in a strip mall and you'll always have parking, but the closest spots will fill up during dinner time and weekends.

Visited Hai Cang Harbor Seafood Restaurant on 12/26, waited 30 min for a table for 7 and then another 30 min after being seated at the table before a waiter approached to take our order. After placing our order (8 dishes total), we asked for some ice water for the table. 4 dishes showed up within 15 min (great cos we were so hungry after the wait) and asked again for water. 2 more dishes arrived and made the request for water again. 2 glasses of water showed up with our last 2 orders, the salt and pepper crab + ginger scallion lobster. 5 guests had to eat an entire meal without water or tea. When we got our check, we noticed that gratuity was already included so I guess that’s why service didn’t matter? The food was good; definitely not worth the wait and lack of service / hospitality. There are plenty of options on Bellaire Blvd. I’d be happy to support another business that cares about its customers and tries to provide a good dining experience.
